National Biology Olympiad
The National Biology Olympiad (NBO) of Nepal is organized annually by STAN (Science Teachers’ Association of Nepal) to identify and nurture talented biology students at the higher secondary level. The competition was established in 2017 and serves as Nepal’s official pathway to the International Biology Olympiad.
The competition targets higher secondary school (+2/A Levels) students with a background in biology and follows a structured selection process. The Olympiad takes place in two phases: Tier I and Tier II, with Tier I being a multiple-choice test covering basic +2 science aptitude questions, lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes, with a total score of 150
Eligibility Criteria for NBO
High school students under 20 are eligible to participate.
Gap year students are also allowed.
How to apply for NBO
You need to fill out the online registration form, which costs NPR 1000.
