The Earth Prize: Youth-led Solutions for a Sustainable Planet

The Earth Prize is the world’s largest environmental sustainability competition for secondary school students, organized by The Earth Foundation in Switzerland. Teams or individuals aged 13–19 submit projects tackling environmental challenges. Participants receive personalized mentorship, and after multiple phases—from registration to public voting—winners are selected regionally and globally.

Eligibility Criteria for Earth Prize

  • Students born 2005–2011 (inclusive) enrolled in secondary education or eligible homeschooling programs.

  • Open globally (no geographic restrictions).

  • Participants may join individually or in teams of up to five students, even across institutions.

  • English language required for all submissions.

  • A teacher, school administrator, program coordinator, or parent must register as a Supervisor.

How to apply for Earth Prize

  • Register online via The Earth Prize website between 1 September 2024 and 30 November 2024 (12:00 PM CET).

  • Creators (teams or individuals) then access the Submissions Portal hosted at The Earth Prize Submissions Portal.

  • Upload a Problem Definition, Motivation Statement, and Fresh Idea in a draft phase (by 31 January 2025, 23:59 CET).

  • If selected as a Scholar, refine your Final Idea and pitch via a video by 7 March 2025, 12:00 PM CET.

  • If chosen as a Regional Winner, engage in live Q&A and mentoring sessions before results are announced.
