BJC: Breakthrough Junior Challenge – Share Science, Win Big
The Breakthrough Junior Challenge (BJC) is an annual international science video competition for high school students. Entrants create a concise and engaging 2‐minute explainer video on a STEM concept. Winners receive substantial awards: a college scholarship, school renovation funds, and a prize for their teacher.
Eligibility Criteria for BJC

Individual students aged 13 to 18 at specified cutoffs: must be 13 by May 1, 2025 (PDT) and under 19 by October 1, 2025.

English-language entries; participants worldwide, including homeschooled students.

Entrants must engage in peer-to-peer review, scoring at least five other submissions to be eligible.

Previous winners are not eligible.
How to apply for BJC

Register on the official BJC entry page starting May 1, 2025.

Submit a video (max 2:00 minutes) explaining a theory or concept in physics, life sciences, or mathematics.

Complete peer review by reviewing at least 5 other entries by September 30, 2025.

Finalists are evaluated by expert judges, followed by a public voting phase to pick regional champions.

Winner announcement occurs later in the year (TBD).
