ANASC: Nepal’s All‑Nepal Asteroid Search Campaign – Discover Real Asteroids
The All‑Nepal Asteroid Search Campaign (ANASC), organized by the Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO), invites teams of students and young astronomers to join Nepal’s official asteroid-hunting program. Participants receive training and access to astronomical data for real asteroid detection and discovery, with opportunities to name newly found objects.
Eligibility Criteria for NASO

Open to students (high school & university) and astronomy enthusiasts across Nepal—and other countries.

Form teams of 2–4 members, with optional mentor (teacher or NASO-provided).

Participants under 13 must include a parent/guardian in the team.

Access to a reliable internet and computer setup with basic technical skills.
How to apply for NASO

Register your team using the ANASC team registration form.

Optionally sign up for asteroid search training (monthly online sessions) to build search skills.

After selection, receive access to real telescope imagery for analysis.

Collaborate with your team to identify potential asteroids.
