The International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition (IAAC) is a global, fully online competition open to high school and university students. Held annually since 2019, it features three progressive rounds—Qualification, Pre‑Final with research-based problems, and a Final MCQ exam—designed to stretch participants’ astronomy and astrophysics knowledge and problem-solving skills

Eligibility Criteria for IAAC

Open to current high school and university students of all countries, divided into three age groups—Junior (< 16), Youth (< 19), and Senior (≥ 19 or university level). Age on the qualification-round deadline determines category.

How to apply for IAAC

Submit solutions online via the IAAC official website before the Qualification Round deadline. The Qualification Round is free. Qualifiers may pay a modest fee (~€11) to enter the Pre‑Final Round. Finalists can take the supervised online MCQ exam either via a teacher or recorded video submission.
