Yale Young Global Scholar
YYGS is an officially-run, academically intensive pre‑college program hosted by Yale University’s Office of International Affairs. It offers four thematic sessions over two weeks—such as Politics, Law & Economics or Innovations in Science & Technology—led by Yale faculty and global experts. Students live in Yale’s historic residential colleges, engage in lectures, group projects, and networking with peers from over 150 countries.
Eligibility Criteria for YYGB
To apply for YYGS, you must satisfy all of the following by the relevant summer start date:
Age: 16–18 years old (e.g. by July 20, 2025 for Session III)
globalscholars.yale.edu
Grade level: Current high school sophomore or junior (or international equivalent)
Graduation year: Northern Hemisphere students graduating May/June 2026 or 2027; Southern Hemisphere November/December 2025 or 2026
English fluency: Must be able to participate in rigorous academic instruction in English
First-time participants only: You cannot have attended YYGS previously. Prior applicants who did not attend are still eligible
